ImportOS documentation
For car brokers and for developers: Desk, the Margin extension, Track, the Data API, MCP and webhooks.
ImportOS is a platform for car brokers: a CRM (Desk), a margin calculator and extension for Copart/IAAI (Margin), white-label tracking for clients (Track), AI listing search (Scout) and a public API with an MCP server (Data).
The documentation has two parts. Pick yours.
For brokers
Quick start, every Desk screen, the Margin extension, Track, document templates, deal stages, FAQ.
For developers
API key, POST /v1/landed-cost, MCP for Claude Desktop, ChatGPT and Cursor, webhooks, SDK, API reference.
Honest status: what works and what is still in progress
The product is built in parts, and this documentation describes what is in the code, not what is planned. Every feature carries a marker:
- Available works in the current build.
- Beta works, but the contract may change.
- In development described in the spec, missing or incomplete in the build. These places have a yellow "In development" block listing what is coming.
- Waiting on the owner the code is ready, a decision or key from the owner is missing (a domain, a third-party account).
Everything that tables and references take from code (deal stages, Scout sources, integrations, plans, the API reference, template placeholders) is generated at build time, not written by hand, so it cannot drift from the product.
Two end-to-end scenarios
| Scenario | Where | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Broker: from sign-up to subscription | Broker quick start | partly works, the rest is marked "in development" |
| Agent: API key, REST, MCP | Developer quick start | fully works |
