Deals
A kanban by state-machine stages, a deal card with tabs, a stage transition with a preview of the client message.
Available Route in Desk: /deals
Purpose
A deal is the main entity: one car for one client from enquiry to handover. The whole life cycle is run here.
Kanban and table
The kanban columns are your company's deal stages (reflecting what you renamed, disabled or hid). There is also a table with filters and export.
The deal card
| Tab | What is there |
|---|---|
| Overview | car, client, stage, ETA, risks |
| Finance | plan and actual by item, live margin, incoming and outgoing payments, client debt, an "issue invoice" button |
| Documents | generation from templates, signing statuses |
| Logistics | container, vessel, ports, tracking events, port photos |
| Customs | declaration, payments, broker |
| Photos | from the auction, the port, after repair. The client sees only those marked "public" |
| Timeline | everything that happened |
| Tasks | tasks of the deal |
The client does not see the lot price, fees, your fee or the margin: all of this is available only to roles with the finance right.
Stage transition
The transition button opens a dialog:
- the list of required fields that are missing (for example VIN, lot price, container or B/L);
- a reason is mandatory for moving back, pausing and closing;
- a preview of the message that will go to the client: you can edit it or not send it.
After the transition the tasks, messages and documents prescribed by the stage are created automatically.
Deal types
full_service (sourcing, purchase, delivery, customs), auction_only (auction only), logistics_only (the client bought it themselves, you only ship), resale (the car is already yours). The type decides which stages can be skipped.
What already exists at the service level
Deal creation, stage transitions with condition and permission checks, estimates and approval of estimate
changes above a threshold already work in @core/services and are covered by tests on a real Postgres.
There is no Desk screen on top of them yet.
